Day 2: Discover the State Capital Magdeburg
During the day:
- After breakfast, it's off to Magdeburg, which is easy to reach by regional and local public transport
- Once in the city on the Elbe, shopping is on the agenda here; the Allee Center and the surrounding stores are ideal for this
- Lunch in one of the many restaurants in the city center
- A must-see: Magdeburg Cathedral - the city's landmark
- If you want to immerse yourself even more in history, you should visit the Ottonianum Cathedral Museum visit
- A walk to the Green Citadel, Magdeburg's Hundertwasser building, is always a good idea
- In the inner courtyard and in the building there are cafés, restaurants and small stores that invite you to browse
In the evening:
- As soon as it gets dark, a visit to the Magdeburg World of Lights from 20 November 2025 is the perfect evening activity. More than 1 million LEDs sparkle here and the city center becomes a backdrop for festively illuminated sculptures and figures
- Round off the day with a visit to one of the many Christmas markets in the city or the surrounding area (see list below)










Magdeburg - City on the Elbe
During the cold season, the state capital of Saxony-Anhalt shows its most festive side. The historic Christmas market around the Alter Markt invites you to stroll around with mulled wine, lights and handicrafts, while the Magdeburg World of Lights with over a million LEDs transforms the city center into a radiant winter wonderland. A stroll along the cathedral square or through the Elbauenpark becomes an unforgettable experience full of warmth and magic.
Day 3: Graduation Tower and Schönebeck Brine Spring
Morning
- Start your day at the Bad Salzelmen graduation tower: breathe in the salty air, stroll along the more than 300 m of the historic building and enjoy the view from the brine tower.
- Right next to it is the Lindenbad, which offers relaxation and physiotherapy services, including brine inhalation, therapeutic pools and the rare Dead Sea salt grotto.
Lunch & afternoon
- At Solequell Bad Salzelmen, you can relax in the spacious bathing area - massage jets, current channel, hot and adventure pools invite you to linger. A sauna session in the panorama room will also help your body and mind to relax.
