The music landscape of Sachsen-Anhalt blossomed in baroque: Handel was born in Halle (Saale). Bach composed the “Brandenburg Concerts “in Köthen. Telemann was born in Magdeburg, Schütz spent his childhood and adulthood in Weißenfels. Fasch composed a wedding serenade at Zerbster Court for the succeeding empress Catherine the Great.

A musical journey of time through Sachsen-Anhalt leads you to modernism, which was shaped by the Dessauer composer Kurt Weill. Throughout the year you can be a part of top-ranking concerts and music festivals. Be enchanted by the buoyant baroque music of the Händel festivals.
